From Paris to Hollywood

By Julien Beauhaire (Translated by Lauren Hasty)

There’s only a few days left to see the exhibition Paris vu par Hollywood, at Paris’ city hall, an evocation of how American cinema represents the French capital from the 1930s onward.

More than eight hundred American films have been shot in the City of Lights or in reconstructed decor and directors Ernst Lubitsch, Black Edwards, Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Donen, Vincente Minnelli, John Huston, Woody Allen have all immortalized Paris on film.

On Display at the Hôtel de Ville, until December 15th, 2012.

Don’t miss the beautiful book Paris vu par Hollywood, by Antoine de Baecque (Flammarion, 288 pages, € 45).
